Snake and Spider Bites in Dogs and Cats: Diagnosis and Treatment of Envenomation

The Virginia Veterinary Centers invite DVMs and LVTs to attend a CE lecture by Dr. Wendy Watts, covering envenomation by snakes and spiders. Dr. Watts will review the various snake species in our area and advise on symptoms of venomous snake bites. We will discuss which diagnostics should be performed if envenomation is suspected, and give a refresher update on basic and advanced medical care which should be provided to patients who are victim of envenomation. Dr. Watts will also cover which species of spiders pose a threat to pets, as well as which diagnostics and treatments should be performed for these spider bites.
