Dr. Jeff Smith grew up in Florida where he earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Central Florida and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Florida. After spending his first year after graduation in a small animal practice in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Dr. Smith then relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio where he began his career in emergency medicine. In his 20 years of emergency medicine practice, Dr. Smith served as the Emergency Department Head for a large emergency and specialty practice and gained a wide range of experience in all aspects of emergency medicine.

Dr. Smith and his family are excited to relocate to Virginia and begin the next chapter of his career with Virginia Veterinary Centers. When not caring for emergency patients, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with his wife, 4 children, 3 dogs, and 3 cats.
