DVM, DACVECC | Dr. Margret Donahue was born in Texas. She has lived in several locations throughout her life; Virginia is actually the ninth state that she has called home. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. From there, Dr. Donahue worked as an overnight technician at a specialty hospital in Connecticut before pursuing her veterinary degree from the University of Illinois. After graduation, she completed a small animal rotating internship at VCA Veterinary Referral and Associates in Maryland, and afterward moved to Cape Cod for a small animal emergency and critical care residency.
Dr. Donahue attained board-certification from the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in October 2020. Her professional interests include transfusion medicine, ventilator therapy, and sepsis.
