BVSC, MANZCVS, Practice Limited to Small Animal Surgery | Dr. Sam Chiu was awarded a full-ride scholarship (Melbourne National Scholarship) to complete his veterinary degree at the University of Melbourne, Australia. He completed rotating and surgical internships, followed by a fellowship and residency in small animal surgery at North Carolina State University. His many accomplishments included the Wade O Brinker Award and the Mark Bloomberg Award from the Veterinary Orthopedic Society. He was also awarded the Firestone Research Award and Top Honors Research Award from North Carolina State University.
Dr. Chiu’s professional interests include thoracoscopy, laparoscopy, arthroscopy, minimally invasive fracture repair, total joint replacement and image-guided interventions.
In addition, he enjoys all aspects of soft tissue, orthopedic, and neurosurgery. Outside of work, Dr. Chiu enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and son. He believes every pet family is different and deserves tailored surgical care. Dr. Chiu is eager to build a strong rapport with our referral community.
