Born and raised in Caroline County, Sam worked at a local small animal practice for nearly 15 years before coming to VVC. It was there she discovered her passion for canine rehabilitation and was inspired to study animal health. She graduated from Northern Virginia Community College as a licensed veterinary technician, winning honors as student of the year. While completing her tech classes, she began her rehab studies and gained her certification from University of Tennessee that same year. Outside of work, Sam enjoys spending time with her two daughters, Avery and Madison, and husband, Shawn. She has two dogs, Domino and Barrett, and a cat, Holstein (yes, he’s black and white).
