Dr. Sara Wyant has nearly 20 years of private practice ownership and clinical emergency and critical care experience. Originally from Lynchburg, VA, Dr. Wyant attended Randolph-Macon Woman’s College earning her undergraduate degree. She went on to attend Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine earning her doctorate degree. Over the years, Dr. Wyant has held many leadership positions, including President of the VMCVM Alumni Society, Director on the VA Veterinary Medical Association Board of Directors, and Co-Chair of the Disaster Animal Care and Control Committee for the State of VA. Dr. Wyant was awarded the VA Veterinarian of the Year Award in 2009 after her volunteer efforts in and around the Gulf Coast states helping pet owners and animals displaced by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Throughout her career, emergency and critical care medicine has remained her primary professional interest. Dr. Wyant completed an internship at the Animal Emergency Center in Milwaukee, WI in 2007, and continues today practicing state of the art emergency medicine with compassion and expertise. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to her husband play live music, being on the water, and spending time with their feline rulers, Emma and Simon, and Puck, their canine couch potato.
