Dr. Stacy Gravelle is originally from upstate NY where she grew up riding horses and following around her local equine veterinarian. At an early age, she developed a love for caring for animals and decided to pursue her passion. Dr. Gravelle graduated in 2014 with her doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Sydney in Australia. She practiced large animal medicine, predominantly equine, the first three years of her career. She started her own practice in 2017 that focused on holistic medicine for equine companions, ranging from pasture pets to high level competition horses. While starting her practice, Dr. Gravelle began working small animal relief at various clinics throughout Virginia, and ultimately decided to jump into emergency medicine in the spring of 2020 at VVC!
Dr. Gravelle is certified in acupuncture and spinal manipulation, which she still practices on her equine patients when she can. Her main interests in veterinary medicine are different Eastern modalities that can be used in combination with Western perspectives of medicine, physical therapy and rehabilitation, emergency surgery, and diagnostic imaging.
Dr. Gravelle has many pets! She has three horses, Ice, Bobby, and Kasper, two great/dane mastiff mixes, Stella and Lani, two mischievous cats, Lucky and Possum, and two naughty goats, Puck and Doug. Outside of work she likes to ride and spend time with her horses, go hiking and kayaking, work in her garden, and travel.
