Fredericksburg is an independent city known for its historic heritage. In addition to its rich history, Fredericksburg offers an abundance of activities. Nearby is the Rappahannock River, Blue Ridge Mountains, multiple craft breweries, wineries and distilleries, and local restaurants. There is no shortage of activities to explore in your free time, and if you do wish to explore, Washington DC is just a short drive north.
Fredericksburg also has award-winning schools and is home to the University of Mary Washington. For baseball fans, the Fredericksburg Nationals (formerly the Potomac Nationals) recently made a move to our lovely city and play ball at the brand new FredNats Ballpark.
Just 14 miles west of Richmond, the town of Midlothian is known for its proud coal mining and railroad history, old churches, and unique shops. The growing neighborhood and residential community combines historical ambiance with modern amenities which is what makes it a desirable choice for many.
Did you know that Richmond is officially one of the best places in the world? Richmond has a wealth of history and has a growing slate of restaurants and breweries. We were buying fresh and local before you were, our 17th Street Farmer’s Market has been going strong since 1737 and is one of the oldest public markets in the nation!
We are the Redskin’s stomping ground during the summer, our $2 movies are actually in theaters, Richmond’s wall art is taking over the world, and the mountains are practically right outside our doorstep and so are the beaches.
We are known as The River City. The James River Park System covers over 550 acres of shorelines and islands offer much to do, including class IV rapids for an eighth of a mile. We have all the amenities of larger cities, for half the price. The weather is downright agreeable, we get all four seasons, and the weather will rarely get in your way.
Our Richmond hospital and nearby Midlothian hospital afford close-proximity to both city-living as well as more peaceful, remote locations. We offer the best of both worlds!
